Senior 1B Breakfast Practical

Dear 1b students

may  I remind you that tomorrow Thursday 25th January you have the healthy breakfast practical. Don’t forget to get the apron, all the ingredients for the breakfast + drink, tea towels, decoration items and storage containers.

You also have to hand in the preparation sheet as well as the breakfast worksheet + menu card (part of the worksheet).

Senior 1A Breakfast Practical

Dear senior 1A students,

on Tuesday 16th January you have the practical of a healthy breakfast. Please make sure that you get:

  1. the apron.
  2. all the ingredients for your chosen breakfast item/items.
  3. the ingredients for the drink e.g. fresh orange juice, milkshake, tea.
  4. two tea towels.
  5. the decoration items.
  6. a storage container.
  7. the preparation sheet.

Senior 1B Rubbing-in Practical

Dear senior 1B students,

may I remind you that tomorrow Thursday 11th January you have the rubbing-in method practical. You have to prepare, cook and serve either rock buns or scones as well as a healthy home-made drink e..g fresh orange juice or a milkshake. Don’t forget to get all the ingredients, the apron, a lunchbox, tea towel and decorations.

Senior 1A Rubbing in Practical

Dear senior 1A students,

next Thursday 12th December you will have your second practical. In this practical you are going to practise the rubbing-in method, whereby you have to cook and serve rock buns or scones. The recipes are found in the booklet.

As usual, you have to get the apron, the ingredients for the rock buns or scones and the ingredients for your drink (you can prepare the drink from home), a lunchbox to put the buns/scones in it, tea towels and decoration items.

The groups for the cooking are as follows:

Cain, Kathryn and Cathrina, Jean Paul, Hisham and Liam, Alice and Maria M, Karl and Luke, Kayleigh, Maria P.

Senior 1B Maltese Trifle Practical

Dear Senior 1B students,

as I have explained during the lesson, next week you will have your first practical which is the Maltese trifle. The practical will be on Thursday 23rd November.

On the day of the practical make sure to get:

a. the preparation sheet (leave out the evaluation)

b. the apron

c. the ingredients for the trifle – you need to decide with your partner /group who is going to get which ingredients. Regarding the sponge, in the demonstration I used two sponges and not one, as listed in your booklet. So you might want to get two as well  instead of one sponge cake.

d. decoration items – you need to lay the table. You can get a table cloth, a table mat, some flowers etc.

e. a dish which is a bit deep so as to layer the trifle in it. You might want to make two small trifles, rather than a big one. I will leave it up to you.

f. a lunchbox to carry the trifle in it. Especially if you are making a big one which has to be divided between two.

g. two tea towels to dry the dishes.
